Name Clover
Title Queen of Cydrea
Age 23
Hair Color Blonde
Eye Color Green
Height 5'7''
Preferred weapon Rapier, twin sabers
Background Upon birth, a prophet stands with the doctor. They scry into your future to assign you to a caste, to determine where best to put you.
Clover's parents, a royal guard and a private nurse for a noble, were very well-off as they were the king's favorites. Due to their favor with the king, they were given the top care, as was their daughter. When the prophet stood and scried into Clover's future, however, he saw something grim awaiting her.
Rushed and vague, he tried to relay it to her parents: she was meant to be in the warrior caste. The problem? She was a horrible warrior, destined to fall in battle. She would perish, accomplishing nothing of note. He instead suggested that they break the rules of convention, of destiny--man could rewrite destiny, after all--and place her within the royal servant caste to protect her.
But it was all a lie. The 'grim future' awaiting Clover was dethroning the king in battle and becoming queen. In Cydrea, a king would rule for five years until the Noblesse, a tournament between swords to determine who was strongest to rule. With Cydrea currently in turmoil, her rise to power could serve to extinguish the desert nation completely.
The king, adoring the couple, was more than happy to cover up the true prophecy and let Clover--and the rest of the kingdom--think that she was just another child who had been destined to be a maidservent. They raised her to be the servant of the royal tactician, a young woman by the name of Clara.
Clara was more than happy to take Clover under her wing, subjecting her to rigorous lessons and tutoring on diplomacy, tactics, royal manners, how to read and write, and how to calculate. She was kind enough to educate her while expecting Clover to adhere to her expectations. While just being the maidservent to the royal tactician, Clover gained an understanding of tactical play in battle due to her waiting hand and foot on Clara, becoming of sound tactical mind in her own right, though being a maid was clearly not her strong suit.
Upon catching the royal prophet in a lie one day, Clover learns of her true destiny. She becomes livid and demands that she not be given this 'favored' treatment, knowing that her true destiny was denied and ripped away from her because it was "to protect her". According to prophecy, she enters the Noblesse, fulfilling the prophecy and cutting her king down.
Yet, the prophecy said nothing of how she would rule or what sort of age she'd usher in. With nothing else to guide her, Clover instead turns to trying to learn to be the queen she was allegedly meant to be.
